CAPTURING PRECIOUS MOMENTS

From the moment I picked up my first camera, I fell head over heels for photography. I started pursuing photography in 2010 and it has taken me many places since. I’m particularly interested in photographing people, revealing personalities through portraits and the way we respond to portraits.

Growing up in a rural town meant I would have to relocate for further study in photography. In 2014 I moved to Canberra to undertake a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Photomedia at Australian National University’s School of Art.

In 2016 I completed my Bachelor Degree and I went on to complete my Honours in 2017. My Honours project specialised in wet-plate Collodion photography, an old photographic medium which predates digital and film. With this medium I photographed Cosplayers and observed the interaction of a very old process and a relatively very new culture.

I have both commercial and artistic practices. In my spare time currently I work as a freelance photographer, which sponsors my artistic pursuit.

Always Searching For The Shot

I am currently living and working in Canberra, ACT Australia.

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”

“There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.”
ERNST HASS
“Black and white are the colors of photography. They symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is subjected.”

AWESOME COMBO – LIGHT & SEA MIST

As a photographer, I am always on a learning journey. I love getting out there and try different things and shoot in different environments. Some discoveries are just gold. Well, this time is no exception. The most extraordinary display of natural light I've ever witnessed. Note to self, sea mist and light do amazing things.
